Construction is officially underway for MOXI, The Wolf Museum of Exploration and Innovation, to open during the summer of 2016! A playground for the brain, MOXI will be an awe-inspiring, one-of-a-kind experience that unites learning and play to actively engage minds.
MOXI is more than an acronym. It defines the kind of confidence that can be achieved through an authentic joy of learning. Through hands-on exhibits powered by science, technology, engineering, art and math, MOXI will equip the next generation of critical thinkers and creative problem solvers with the skills they need to succeed in the future.
When complete, the 25,000-square-foot museum will include 17,000 square feet of STEAM-based interactive educational exhibits, a rooftop Sky Garden, Smart Classroom, and Museum Store. Our location at 125 State Street is just two blocks from the beach and ideally situated next to the train station, providing easy access and synergy with the Museum’s emphasis on science and engineering.
MOXI is grateful to Dick and Noelle Wolf, our naming benefactors. Their multi-million dollar gift represents a significant contribution to the Santa Barbara community and a commitment to children’s education.
