Seaside Sock Skating Opening Morning
Kick off your shoes for a new season of sock skating with Ice in Paradise, who will lead fun activities throughout the morning.
Don’t miss “Friction Pucks,” led by Ice in Paradise, which explores the science and engineering behind hockey pucks. Experiment with prepared pucks that have different surfaces like wax paper, terrycloth, and a rubber grip and predict how the puck will travel, and then test them out on a hockey rink whiteboard.
Ice in Paradise will also lead 10-15 minute sock skating classes at 9:30 (Members Only), 10:15, 11 AM and 12 PM on the sock skating rink.
Sock skating is included with museum admission. (Don’t forget your socks!)
The exhibit is subject to closure in rainy conditions.
Pro Tips:
- No skates are needed, just bring your own socks. (Cotton or natural fiber socks slide the best.)
