Analysis/Synthesis

Javier Villegas
October 10, 2018 – January 27, 2019

Analysis/Synthesis is an exhibition created by multimedia artist Javier Villegas that consists of three pieces that show how artistical representations of a video feed can be constructed by the combination of these two processes. In the analysis stage, the parts that compose an image are identified. Then, in the synthesis module, these parts are put back together after introducing a fun variation. The result is a unique portrait of the visitor that moves and morphs in real-time.

What Do Colors Sound Like?

What Do Colors Sound Like?

Westmont grad, Tucker Howard, combines color, sound, and science in a unique art experience. He uses a custom algorithm to turn colors into sound, then uses vibration to shape that sound into visual patterns. Inspired by his ADHD and sensory experiences, the project includes a nine-track album, with each track based on a different color. Available this summer on MOXI’s 2nd floor.
