Permanent Exhibit

Light Track.

Explore the world of lights, colors, shadows and more in this area where science and technology beautifully combine with visual arts and creative expression.

MOXI’s Light Track is an interactive exhibition space that demonstrates the fundamental physics of light. Working with exhibit designers from Process Curiosity, the museum team has combined beloved MOXI classics with innovative additions that showcase the fascinating properties of light. Visitors can still enjoy tried-and-true favorites (such as Light Patterns, Painting with Light, Light + Shadow, MAGNA-TILES™ light table) while engaging with new exhibits designed to dive deeper into exploring light, shadow, and color. These interactive experiences will invite visitors to use prisms, lenses, thermal imaging cameras, and more to explore optical phenomena such as reflection, refraction, color mixing, and shadow play.
